What do you call a chav in a filing cabinet? --- sorted

Salinger commented on 09.29.05
What do you call a Chav in a box? --- innit

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
Could be, but it's me doing it! An' I ain't bovvered!

Rebecca commented on 09.29.05
Oh. That must be irritating to hear all the time.

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
It's b-o-v-v-e-r-e-d. i.e. "bothered".

noel commented on 09.29.05
double V, as in the german pronounciation. Spelling's somewhat different. Not like vogon's beware. The germans, and the dutch btw, would still say it the same way though

Rebecca commented on 09.29.05
What is "bowered"?

Vogon3 commented on 09.29.05
on the regents canal there is a sign that says "beware underwater plant"

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
You're right about that part of the article.

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
The current vogue phrase in the southern UK is: "Am I bovvered? Am I bovvered though? Look at the face - bovvered? Face - bovvered?" etc.

Rebecca commented on 09.29.05
I disagree with this article - it says it's meant with obvious sarcastic intention but my observation has actually been that it's said with obvious ignorance and lack of concern for precision in speech. If you correct people, they just shrug and say, "whatever."

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
Rebecca, read this: www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-ico1.htm

Rebecca commented on 09.29.05
You know what I hate is when people say, "I could care less." For the last time, NO NO NO, it's "couldn't" care less.

Rebecca commented on 09.29.05
I used to have a great little metal sign that said, "HOT VALVE".

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
Oh, I got that wrong. Midwives say "I *birthed* her baby" instead of "delivered".

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
Apparently it's the thing to say "I birthed my baby" too.

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
Or "THIS DOOR IS ALARMED".

Salinger commented on 09.29.05
one of my favourites is 'THIS BUILDING IS ALARMED'

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
Yeah, the heavy plant crossing sign always looks odd to me. We also have "CAUTION CHILDREN CROSSING"

Rebecca commented on 09.29.05
Or maybe it's "slow children at play" I'm not sure now.

rebecca commented on 09.29.05
Wow. So does that look funny to you guys too? We have signs that say, "SLOW CHILREN CROSSING" and I always think they're pretty humorous.

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
A common sight on UK roads is a sign saying "HEAVY PLANT CROSSING".

Rebecca commented on 09.29.05
Darn. I wanted to rent a rose.

Vogon3 commented on 09.29.05
Rebecca "plant hire" means building machinery and equipment like cement mixers JCBs Road rollers all are "Plant" in the construction Industry

noel commented on 09.29.05
as i said, they rent roses?

Rebecca commented on 09.29.05
I'm just wondering about the "plant hire."

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
Did you use your oom lens?

Vogon3 commented on 09.29.05

noel commented on 09.29.05

Smart Set commented on 09.29.05
Good title. Good new word, too.
