22jan1879:British infatry with natal irregulars fought a battle against Zulu wariors at the Tugelariver - South Africa . Some time later,in Stokkem, there was an open air play, redoing that battle at the Tugelariver.In that time there was a small river coming from Molenveld into Stokkem ,that small river was the scenery of the redoing in the backyard of the houses,now known as the Tugela .
