no Percy was the name of Goofy's horse in the short cartoon movie 'How to ride a horse.'
Smart Set commented on 08.02.06
Do you mean Percy the pug, Ratcliffe's dog in "Pocahontas"?
robert k commented on 08.02.06
Percy
wim commented on 08.02.06
no, the character is bigger, looks a bit like goofy, and is always 4-legged, with a horse collar, I think he usually goes with mickey and minnie
robert k commented on 08.02.06
you're not talking about Pluto are you? He was definitiely a dog with a dog collar. More beagle-ish; nothing horsey about him.
wim commented on 08.02.06
I think SS is right, the horse collar character has another name, Goofy is labradorish
robert k commented on 08.02.06
The verdict is still out. There is a whole web discussion based on the question: Is Goofy a Dog?...
Smart Set commented on 08.01.06
I vaguely recall a cartoon character who wore a horse collar, but no idea of the name.
wim commented on 08.01.06
then who is the figure with a horse thing around his neck
Smart Set commented on 08.01.06
Goofy is definitely a dog.
wim commented on 08.01.06
if Pjuto is a dawg, is Goofy a hawse or a mule?
Smart Set commented on 08.01.06
Only insofar as they're both cartoon dogs.
Sleepeasy commented on 08.01.06
Is he by any chance related to Deputy Dawg?
Smart Set commented on 08.01.06
No one does. I do love Droopy, though.
wim commented on 07.31.06
in my case, I don't want to droop from lack

Smart Set commented on 07.31.06
Wilt means to droop from lack of water, food, publicity etc.
wim commented on 07.31.06
you are not referring to Tom Sharpe I imagine
wim commented on 07.31.06
SS, please explain : *wilt*

Sorry, I meant to write "travel with a celebrity". And celebrities also wilt underground; they need to be seen.

Sleepeasy commented on 07.30.06
Smart Set, I am glad to hear you are eating your greens, but isn't it a bit over the top to take them underground with you? Surely you'd realise they'd wilt, like the rest & best of 'em...
Sleepeasy commented on 07.30.06
Hi Wim, I will be in your part of the world soon; looking forward to finding out if it is true that the streets are paved with mattresses over there...

I felt briefly happier under this morning's leaden skies, but this mood was soon dispelled by an attempt to use the Piccadilly line. What a fool I was to think I could travel with celerity across London by such a means. And now it's gone all hot and sunny again.
A pox upon TFL (a division of ROTFL, I reckons) and all who sail in her, a-haaaarrrrh! And "Pilates of the Caribbean II" is rubbish, an' all.
Smart Set commented on 07.28.06
I tried reading it aloud but soon fumbled, stumbled, fell in the road and grumbled.
Smart Set commented on 07.28.06
Been a-crawlin' an' a-trawlin' through my back pages, eh, SE? Feel free - there's lots to see. Pretty astonishing poem - it's got just about everything in there. I would, however, query "brier" (a variant of "briar" that I've never seen), "rint" (not a word as far as I know - "lint" would have done the job) and "groats" (which doesn't rhyme with "wits", although maybe it did in 1922).
Sleepeasy commented on 07.28.06
By the way, the challenge is to read it out loud, without fumbling or stumbling...
Sleepeasy commented on 07.28.06
Hi Smart Set, you must be feeling happier now the skies are grey and drizzly again! Your comment reminded me of a 1922 poem by a Dutchman, baffled but undeterred by the pronouciatory chaos of the English language. have a look at
