Private Property - 11.13.05
submitter: Smart Set
location:South Acton, London, UK
This stuff was at a residential home for the elderly. Someone came out and told me it was private property and I had to leave, but after I'd worked the old charm she relented and let me photograph this lovely collection of unwanted matts 'n' stuff.

we keep giving dates and somehow it never works, even the old charm lets us down now and then

No, I'm afraid it doesn't look like my kind of thing, but I'd love to see the next pillow fight.

SS - I'm busy then. You coming to santacon on the 17th?

Chaf commented on 11.23.05
Another scenario to look for, the stuff doesn't disapear right away but will be moved around...same stuff...different pile. You have to be careful with this one 'cause you might think it's a new matt and take a duplicate picture.

Chaf commented on 11.23.05
Give it time SS. I bet if the women saw you lurking about with your camera again the stuff would disapear...or else she would summon a couple of large orderlies and you would disapear.

Well I've never met up with any of them socially. I do know V3 quite well, but we don't really socialise. I met up with wim for a hunt back in June, and I have an idea Salinger and I might get on if we met. Maybe we should all meet up. Salinger could organise it, a mattcon: Trafalgar Square, New Year's Eve, 11.59pm.

Hey, does the London contingent of mattress hunters ever get together for anything? My buddy Ken and I do, but it takes about 4 1/2 hours of driving to get it done. We've been friends for over ten years now though, well before SM.com showed up

Chaf, earlier today I swung by this place (through the trees) and the matts are still there, but someone's added a couple of armchairs which spoil the view quite comprehensively.

Maarten, I did tell her it was just a hobby, but for all she knew I could have been lying.

Interesting point, Chaf. I'll check it out (by looking over the fence this time) on Monday.

How many times when taking a picture at a business of a matt that looks like it's been there a while and someone comes out and questions what your doing, then you go back a day or two later and suddenly it's all been cleaned up? Go back and see if this stuff is still there Fire Marshal Smart.

Best fire hazard that I have seen in a good while.Smart Set she may have thought you were from the Fire Department.

Yeah, the walker makes sense, but the scooter and the bike? Amd the jetwasher?

Chaf commented on 11.15.05
I went to the county landfill the other day to hunt and when I asked about matts they said no pictures. All deposited garbage becomes property of the county and I would need special permission from some suit downtown to take photos. Talk about CYA.

Interesting group, a walker, a scooter and a little bike.

And congrats to you for making comment #3333 on my pics.
