no tricks, no cropping, no photshopping, just a big shop outside "santa claus" (december 6th) indicating "1000 matrassen". Probably my counting is wrong, but it really does not matter, it will be near 1000. I suppose they don't hold track of their mattresses either.

In time, Grasshopper, in time.

wim commented on 03.20.07
fair enough, I 'll have to find the answer elsewhere, no hard feelings

Sleepeasy commented on 03.20.07
But Wim, then you'll have my email address and I will no longer be here incognito! I have my doubts about such Glasnost.

wim commented on 03.20.07
23h11 over here, if possible, mail at wim at deskundige dot be to enable me to formulate my question about glass

Sleepeasy commented on 03.20.07
I wasn't, but I am now; 22h50 in Belgium.

wim commented on 03.20.07
SE, are you more or less watching at this moment? 20h14 in belgium?

Sleepeasy commented on 03.20.07
Smartset, you are always right. Will I never learn?

wim commented on 03.20.07
this was belgium's # 1250

wim commented on 03.19.07
S, SS is right, and if it would not have been due to some lost matts my 1000 would match, but the challenge is unpredictable, because one cannot know the submission number due to the refusals, the laps of time and irregularity of submissions by others

Smart Set commented on 03.19.07
Sleepeasy, the challenge was set by Salinger on Sept 6th, 2003, on mattress #1144.

Sleepeasy commented on 03.18.07
No SS, I am pretty certain the challenge is to match your own matt number to a number in the picture. At least, that would be challenge enough for me...

Smart Set commented on 03.16.07
And you didn't miss wim's 1000th - you commented on it the day it went up!

Smart Set commented on 03.16.07
Sorry, rk, but this is wim's #1001. And the challenge was to match the mattress number (in this case 15158) to a number in the pic; much more difficult, and now virtually impossible.

robert k commented on 03.15.07
sorry wim. missed the hullabaloo on your 1000th. i was in Canada. i think this meets the challenge of having a street address or other number in the picture matching your submission. well done.

Smart Set commented on 03.15.07
I think it would be about 500 feet tall, which is about as high as fourteen Tyrannosaurus rexes in a double-decker bus on top of Nelson's Column, which I did actually see once.

Sleepeasy commented on 03.14.07
Gefeliciteerd, Wim! That's a brilliant 1000th pic. How tall would a stack of 1000 matts be?

DVD Dan commented on 03.13.07
Wim - not that many yet. You have free reign until Jan 19 when my matts will start to trickle in again.

Jaak Graaf van Stokkem commented on 03.13.07
Wim I can't see Zwarte Piet.

wim commented on 03.13.07
I am certain Dan, this bronze is not for long. You have been too calm lately. Probably you have a hundred matts or so in the pipe-line

DVD Dan commented on 03.13.07
As Agent 86 would say, "Missed it by that much!". Congrats on reaching Bronze.

wim commented on 03.13.07
thank you SS, 3 european guys on top!!

Smart Set commented on 03.12.07
Never mind, wim. This matt takes you to a glorious 3rd place. Congrats!
