I didn't know mattresses were into politics. Is a blue (liberal) mattress campaigning for a red (labour) politician politically correct? Ask for the results of the elections next sunday: we have them in real time, thanks to an electronic polling system. “Old Europe” is not like Florida (USA).

Salinger, got a favorite PM? Any of them know how to act?
Rebecca commented on 05.17.03
Richard Nixon - not a great actor but a great cultural icon.

Salinger, which president was your favorite actor?
Salinger commented on 05.17.03
Rebecca, so which actor was your favourite American President?

Great picture Narcis ! Is "Alain Mathot" not under the mattress ?
wim commented on 05.16.03
I was not aware of the fact that your president has a brain of his own

There seesm to be some weird dynamic between a big payoff and how good the act is. I'm not sure that a bigger payoff buys a better actor, though. Our current president doesn't even pretend to care what we think.

In the states you have to up the ante a bit - airline tickets, hotel rooms, antique clocks, jewelry - seem to be required, at least in New Jersey.

Rebecca, is that how it is done in the usa ? It is reassuring to know you are not so different.

Maybe the mattress and bags are a gift to appease him before he does something terrible.
wim commented on 05.15.03
Hello tiki, he should scare you, he is a eminent survivor.

Why does Mathot have laser eyes? He scares me.

and possibly filling the bags to the left of the mattress.

Nice severed head reference, astute yet morbid.

Frank, part of the dispute in Florida concerned the number of 'hanging chads' that might have been votes for Gore. Chads are the very small pieces of paper punched out of larger pieces of paper by hole-punches. If the chad was left hanging and hence still attached to the original piece of paper like a severed head dangling from its body by the remnants of a spinal cord, the vote was not counted as the chad needs to be completely separated.
Frank commented on 05.14.03
Rebecca, "chad" isn't in my dictionary. What does it mean?
wim commented on 05.14.03
it is even funnier, if you would not say mathot, but hot mat
Rebecca commented on 05.14.03
I don't know about that...isn't that a hanging chad I see to the left of the mattress?
