SE, you asked for it. Meet Martin, my dayly postman in his summer uniform with his bicycle; he also organises the annual race of postmen on bicycles (see poster agains my window); to keep things in the village, the matt comes from our local tip and originally was meant to be named "looping", buts this suits me too.

just cycle the fastest, and Martin himself is rather a good rider, the problem beingh the weight of the bike and the quantity of beer before and during the race

Wim, please explain: is this a race as to who can mail the most letters correctly the fastest? Or just who can cycle the fastest?

I believe that in Holland you have to supply your own bike, all you get is the official saddle bag. They're a thrifty lot.

this of course is the summer uniform; Martin has his official post bike; those who have a round that is a bit longer have a small motorcycle, those that go out of the village have a small van. The race is once a year, as you can see 20th time this year and both postmen and postwomen particate; there are two categories one with the heavy oldfashion bikes with bags and standard and one on racebikes; it is one of those certain things to happen in rural city life

What's this about a race of postmen? Are they selectively bred to have strong shoulders and good geographical awareness?

Thanks Wim, I'm interested in the style of the postman's uniform. One of the very few non-threatening uniforms in existence. Hoi Martin, zeker lekker rustig nu het zomervakantie is?
