For months I was amused to see the sign on this shop. A private shop? I used to think? Who'd want to own a shop, just to shop in it on their own? And if you were wealthy enough to have a shop to call your own, why have it in Acton? Then I went in one day and realised what a Private Shop is. The British are so Weird. Anyway, the matt was moving out. It had had enough.

In my saner moments i have pondered the question--how can "private parts" be so public without --yes--and--is this buisness privatised?

Passing this shop today, as every day (and the operative word here is "passing"), I noticed that it also says "Adult Shop". Would that euphemism better alert you both to its purpose?

Yeah. Though paradoxically, behind these doors the private is on very public display.

Not as Weird as the Bosnian/Herzegovenians with their Rity Shop craziness.
