| After I’d taken this picture I walked up to the matt to get a closer shot. Then I heard, “What did you take a picture of that car for?” I turned round to face a rather aggressive looking garage mechanic. “No” I replied, “The Mattress”. He wasn’t impressed by my answer and challenged me again insisting that I was taking a picture of the car. Sensing that ‘urban art’ wasn’t going to satisfy him as an answer, I tried a different tact. “A friend and I made a bet to see who could take the most pictures of abandoned mattresses in one day” He still wasn’t too sure, but smiled as if he was thinking, “what a twat!” |

| wim commented on 08.20.08 | | you could have said " I am only testing my camera, I ran out of batteries" I did this once with a very agressive tall giant and it worked, untill he wanted the film and was amazed there was no film in my camera, he wanted gto do the movy trick, opening the camera and tearing the film out, saying "this is what we do with people like you" but by then I was gone |
