Just wanted wim to know that the caves are no longer there, they have been filled with recreational vehicles-

wim commented on 03.20.04
I can imagine all kinds of recreational things to do in vehicles, with or without an orange mat

We have small bats in our house, in the summer they leave every evening about 9.30 pm

Rebecca commented on 03.18.04
We went there to see the bats but apparently they were all vacationing in Mexico for the winter.

for me it was in the summer of 1961, my parents bought a car in New York City, we drove through 32 states, with Carlsbad as the most far down. I had completely forgotten the existance of those caves, probably I still have the journal, black and white, me with an american haircut. So we have places in common Rebby.

I was there, underground in the caves with Serena, when George the Senior began bombing Baghdad in 1991. Then we drove straight home in my 1963 Econoline van in an unexpected snowstorm, me with too much cheap Mexican whisky in my stomach and her playing Crass at top volume to stay awake. Those were them days.

make that as a 12 year old kid

Do they still have the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico ?I have been there as a 1é year old kid, and in those days they printed a journal with the names of the visitors and where they came from. In those days I had no idea of the beautifull light in Carsbad (perhaps because I was "in" the ground, and not "above" . What is an "RV"?
