| Having had several mattresses dumped behind our wall, we are overjoyed that this mattress has been discarded in the middle of the pavement. Whilst the daylight deposit may seem daring and cheeky to some, those who have to remove these urine-sodden items from the street will no doubt appreciate the considerate attitude of those blessed with too many beds. Well done. |

The "Venus de Milo" is a famous ancient Greek statue discovered by a peasant in a cave on the Aegean island of Melos, in the 1800s. It is noteworthy for the fluid, twisting movement seen in the torso and for its missing arms. It has become, in a sense, a standard by which to measure beauty, hence, "Mattress de Milo." |
