Many families would line their streets with all the mattresses from their house. Once stacked the children from the house would climb to the top and throw rolled oats at pedestrians walking by. Gradually a local pastor would go past each stack and try to knock it down by ridding an Emu into the side of the stack. My feeling is that if you were to look on the top of this mattress stack you would find some young children lying there with rolled oats in their hand waiting for the pastor to come by on his emu...... sadly the pastor never came.....
