just give me the adress of the rocket, I'll be in London, 18 and 19 july, coming over 17 during the day (by car)
Horse commented on 06.08.10
It wouldn't be impossible for me to get along to London for the day. It really would be great to step out of the virtual world and meet you all. Only problem I can see at the moment is time ... keep me informed
Smart Set commented on 06.06.10
Mark's memorial web site is active now.
robert k commented on 06.05.10
well of course a chance to meet you all and to honour V3 would be...well an honour but unfortunately it's not in the cards this summer. one day though and soon i hopoe.
psychobabble commented on 06.05.10
count me in on that one - has to be at the Rocket!
Smart Set commented on 06.05.10
I told them you were coming over, and they were both keen to meet you, I seem to recall. Horse? rk? That would be too much to hope for.
wim commented on 06.05.10
SS, I am coming to London next month, how about meeting you and me and SE and PB one evening, who knows even with Horse? perhaps we can convince RK to fly over
Smart Set commented on 06.05.10
One thing I forgot to mention was that a mat on da move on top of a car drove past the pub where we were having the gathering afterwards. Sleepeasy shouted over to alert me, but neither of us got a pic of it, alas.
Horse commented on 06.04.10
Thanks for letting us all know about V3's funeral SS. This is such a good picture to remember him by.
Smart Set commented on 06.03.10
rk, not a bad idea. There used to be a SM message board before my time.
Smart Set commented on 06.03.10
I didn't say Mark was the fiend, but you! Sorry!
Smart Set commented on 06.03.10
oops, a rare typo from me! I tried to send them but your hotmail address was defunct.
psychobabble commented on 06.03.10
....Mark was never a "fiend" - but a truly great friend - and I really miss him....
(I was so pleased to meet up with you at last, SS - don't forget to mail the links)
Smart Set commented on 06.03.10
No, wim, I never met him until yesterday. psychobabble was V3's neighbour and fiend, and also knows Sleepeasy.
wim commented on 06.03.10
I thought you new psychobabble
wim commented on 06.03.10
it always is a loss, poepple that mark time in one way or the other, the date of his funeral is also meve's birthday, art's second daughter, I know it makes no sense, but somehow we are a bunch of optimists, like everything on this picture, the road is made step by step, in a long chain of people adding their contribution
robert k commented on 06.03.10
thanks SS. I'd like to suggest we use this matt pic of Mark's as the SM community notice board
Smart Set commented on 06.03.10
Sad times. I went to Vogon3's funeral today. About 300 people attended. His coffin was decorated with film posters, record sleeves, punk band posters, Simpsons stuff and, on top, one of his de Milo matts. There wasn't a square inch of wood showing. Very cool.
Mark's company have created a website in his memory www.markwallacemason.com, which should be up now, but when I checked, it wasn't. Hopefully should be up soon. And I finally met psychobabble! I'd expected not to like him but he turned out to be the nicest guy!
wim commented on 05.24.10
No, I want to drive over (boat or train, whatever) so nearby parking and public transport would be nice
Smart Set commented on 05.24.10
I've never stayed in a hotel or lodgings in London, so I can't recommend anywhere, but I imagine reasonably priced places are all pretty much the same. Do you want to stay centrally or near Heathrow?
Smart Set commented on 05.24.10
He was special effects, not production.
wim commented on 05.24.10
SS, I want to spend a week-end in London in july, any idea of good and not too expensive lodging?
wim commented on 05.24.10
the producer had the same name
Smart Set commented on 05.24.10
If you mean the meerkats then I don't think so.
wim commented on 05.24.10
did he make the Gophers?
ART commented on 05.24.10
that's life...you make the best out of your life on earth and after that we just have the sit and wait what happens....have a nice journey Vogon! and my condolences to his family
wim commented on 05.24.10
this is for you, son
wim commented on 05.23.10
just to put vogon on top of comments, the two trees look like landmarks, and Mark was a landmark, I am glad he had children and I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends
robert k commented on 05.23.10
oh dear, so sad. i too feel like we're a family of sorts, an odd bunch for sure but still family.
Horse commented on 05.22.10
This is very sad news. I would like to also send my condolences to Vogon's family and friends.
Smart Set commented on 05.22.10
He had a heart attack, I think, but it's not known for certain yet. I guess if you post condolences here they could be read by his family. I saw his younger daughter in town today and told her I had put something on SM about her dad, and she said he would have liked that.
wim commented on 05.22.10
I am very sad to read this, SS, after all we are some kind of family, what happened? Can we send condolences to his partner?
Smart Set commented on 05.22.10
Some very sad news. My friend Mark, alias Vogon3, who introduced me to streetmattress, died yesterday. He was a very clever, funny guy, and though I didn't see him very often, I will miss him a lot. R.I.P.
Wetspot commented on 01.09.05
i think i see the image of the virgin mary in that stain.
