Dangerous driving - 01.17.05
submitter: ChristineLarsen
location:Tacoma, WA
This is my second Tacoma Narrows Bridge photo and I have to say, they're one of the more complicated street mat pics to take. If you ever hear of a woman in WA state driving off the side of the bridge for no known reason, suspect it was ChristineLarsen and a street mat.

According to my information it is a language spoken by the original inhabitants of the Pudget Sound region. Yes, perhaps you could google it.Ans yes, very exciting idea, people pouring concrete in a construction

What in the heck is Lushootseed, Wim? Should I google it? This bridge is named the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, so I think you can figure out what town it's attached to. The "Puget Sound" is a very deep waterway that runs from the Pacific Ocean into the the middle of the west side of WA state. Very pretty. Very cold. Very deep. A second Narrows Bridge is being built to the right side of this picture--even as I type this someone is pouring concrete in it's construction! How exciting!

Is it Near Tacoma or Near Bellingham, and do you also speak Lushootseed ?

"Puget Sound", sounds very high

Those kind of bridges freak me out. I remember one in Portland, the road surface is just a steel grate so you can see through it. I'll tell you that was one white knuckle ride.

No, same old crappy windshield. If you'd like to donate to my windshield fund however, email me at livingitrural@yahoo.com for information. Believe it or not, Wim, there is a walkway right along the road. Hard to see in the photo, but it's maybe 3 feet wide or so. Bikes and brave pedestrians go across from time to time. I walked across once (it's about 1-1/2 mile from one side to the other) but I grew wearing of the honking horns and strange people yelling from their cars. It's rather scary as you're way, way up high over the Puget Sound waterway. One wrong turn for a motorist and you're shark food.

If you do, try to get on the mat. I like this bridge, but on what side is the phone? Is there a zone for pedestrians?

Still not got that windscreen fixed?

Galloping Gertie looked like a lot more fun than this one.
