Mattress Fight - 10.03.02
submitter: tikifish
location:Queen & Bathurst, Toronto
I spied this little beauty on my way home from work, leaning
against a lamp-post (1). Just as I had gotten off my bike and taken
out my camera to shoot it from behind this glass transit shelter (2),
this bum (3) took the mattress, flopped it flat on the sidewalk, and
lay down on it. This angered another nearby street denizen (4),
sporting the stylish baseball cap and ponytail who began yelling at the old fella to 'get the f*ck offa that mattress!'. I quickly
realized I was putting myself in some danger trying to capture this
magic moment so I scooted across the street and took a picture from a
safe distance. Unfortunately by that time, ponytail man had succeeded
in scaring off the reclining bum with threats of violence, and put
the mattress back against the post. I captured them just before the
streetcar(5) came rumbling by and blocked my view.

the guy in the cap is a street mattress regular and was just pissed because he didn't have his camera.but now we kno wthe mattress has been repositioned by the photographer, would the outcome be a true documentary matress image., now look at that cow skull desert picture uproar. can't remember who by.my tutor would be so proud of my lack of name knowledge.

tikifish, the real crime here is that underneath that baseball cap you just KNOW there is gonna be a mullet!

Tikifish, what an awesome picture. This wasn't just a plain streetmattress sighting, this was a streetmattress EXPERIENCE. One that you captured so well. I almost feel as though I was there, enjoying every second of it. It's good we have funny looking pony tail guy keeping our streets free from streetsleeping.
