I am lifting my self-imposed ban on bedbases just for this one. I was walking along the road when I saw a house with the date 1902 on it. This started me thinking about the house's 100th anniversary, which then made me think, by a devious process which I needn't detain you with, of the 1999 total eclipse of the sun, which was visible from the UK on August 11th that year. (It was total only in Cornwall; 97% in London.) Thinking back to that day, I walked on about 20 yards and saw this bedbase. Obviously produced to commemorate the '99 eclipse, with the words Solar, Lunar and Eclipse, it also has the names of various constellations. A highly unusual design, and what an amazing coincidence!
