I'd lined up a shot of the three matts when I saw the little dog trotting along, so I waited. Took the first pic, then lowered the camera as the mutt's owner approached with another dog on a leash. She said, "Smile for the camera - you're in an estate agent's photograph." (!) I then glanced back at the dog, saw what he was doing, and snatched the second pic with the camera held at chest height, then had time for the third as the dirty dog trotted happily off.
Later in the day I saw the owner and dog again. If I see them another time I'll ask her its name.

Yes. Very confusing. I think I was mistaken the first time (or the second).

"His owner, who seemed to be the same person as before, but a man this time"... transgenderism in Acton?

Well, if he does, I didn't tell him. His owner, who seemed to be the same person as before, but a man this time, was taking pictures on a digital camera of the French market outside Morrison's. While he was distracted by looking at his photos, I extracted the name from him on the cunning pretext of being a dog lover.

...and does Stan (and his pet) know that he's been immortalised?

I saw the dog again today and asked the owner its name. It's Stan.
