Where's your bed, boy? - 02.25.04
submitter: ChristineLarsen
location:Port Orchard, WA
A young boy I know told me out of the blue that he got a new mattress. Of course just hearing the word "mattress" makes me think of taking a picture. I asked him where his old mattress was now. After becoming slightly annoyed at his, "Why you wanna know?" babble, he finally told me his parents threw it outside for the dog to sleep on. Another picture scored!

OH my God, Wim, he's talking to you! I'm scared...can I hide behind your coat?

I would put "m" in the category "the untouchables", as he writes my lingo , I disadvise any form of contact with "m".

I think I meant to say AREN'T the universal language. I have a fever and am not thinking straight.

ChristineLarsen commented on 02.28.04
Well I suppose they have motor mouth, trash-talking Dutch people too. I just wonder if he can understand us....Here, let me try... M? M? I am an American. I come in peace. Can you understand me? Do you know what we are talking about? Don't be afraid. We will not hurt you...... There, maybe that will help break the obvious barrier we have with M. I guess this just further proves that street mattresses are the universal language.

Hmm, how did I miss that one when I was looking for a site that would do Dutch? I think maybe it gives a slightly more coherent version than WorldLingo. The thing is, Christine, I've had my Dutch co-worker look at his comments and she says they don't really make sense in the first place.

ChristineLarsen commented on 02.27.04
I've figured M out! Go to this link http://ets.freetranslation.com/ and paste his comment. (Dutch to English). It's a little clearer, though still difficult to understand what the heck he's trying to say.

As long as he did not paint the dog it is ok for me.

ChristineLarsen commented on 02.26.04
Not sure if there's paint in them, wim, but I'll call the young lad soon and let you know. I'm sure he'd love for me to question his mattresses again.

wim commented on 02.25.04
You must know by now Christine, that I am fond of touches of red, here you caught 3 at once, magnificant. Would they have had paint in those buckets ?

wim commented on 02.25.04
