I must have been on holliday in august 2005, missing all these conversations when rebby was still a regulating force on sm and she and nancy having chats about cats, btw my latest cat has a skin problem too

Cassius is more into taking it easy now that he's retired from a rough life out on the streets. Occasionally if he spots something moving, he'll slam his paw down on it, stopping it instantly. Then he immediately eats it and that's that.

I have seen Heidi catch a fly with one paw behind her head in mid-air, while sitting on the edge of the bathtub. She has magic ninja powers.

Funny thought! Maybe there's a correlation there, I'll have to think about it. I always thought she was just a spazz.

Rebecca, I thought you meant that your cat was bouncing off the walls as a result of having eaten the grasshoppers, i.e. they imparted their characteristics.

Nancy Dumpling commented on 09.22.05
Ahh, bless him.

Rebecca commented on 09.22.05
Cassius was almost completely bald three months ago, so he's really doing much better. The fur seems to be sticking on him fairly well at this point. Heidi will eat the grasshoppers, yes, but we often get fed up with her antics and put them in our aquarium for the fish to snack on.

Nancy Dumpling commented on 09.22.05
!!! Poor Cassius! Hope his fur stays! Do your cats eat the grasshoppers??

Rebecca commented on 09.22.05
Well, Heidi is extremely fluffy, and thinks she should be eating tuna for every meal. We have had a lot of grasshoppers this year, some of which come into the house, so she is bouncing off the walls at 3:00 a.m. Cassius is okay, but his coat is of variable density and I'm concerned that his fur loss may be returning. However, he is eternally grateful and happy to be living in a house, as usual. Thanks for asking, it gives me a chance to talk about my cats!

I only just noticed the showcase thing as well....and the window is rather odd. How are those cats of yours, Rebecca?

Rebecca commented on 09.22.05
Look at the angle of the sill compared to the base of the building. Here in Santa Cruz we have a place called "The Mystery Spot" and I think you've found the British equivalent. That may explain the showcase confusion as well.

Can't remember it being that steep, but you're right SS, it looks that way. Get to the dentist!!

Smart Set commented on 09.22.05
BTW, I probably left the 'c' out of that first word because it ends in 'dentally' and I've got intermittently raging toothache at the moment, so I subconsciously left out "see" the dentist.

Smart Set commented on 09.22.05
Inidentally, that looks to be a fairly steep alley, when you consider the angle of the window sill. I initially took the ground to be level.

Rebecca commented on 09.22.05
That's odd. You two aren't using the same email address, are you?

Smart Set commented on 09.22.05
Yes, that's odd, but have you noticed that both yours and ND's showcase are called "Nancy Dumpling's Showcase"?!!

ND'sM commented on 09.22.05
Bit of cnfusion here...apart from the human form! My showcase but showing ND as submitter!

Smart Set commented on 09.22.05
Something about this pile of trash reminds me of a broken human form.
